Nick Drake

Nick Drake was an English singer-songwriter whose success peaked after his death. Although Drake was actively producing music for only 4 years, he still holds a place among the most influential musicians. He played guitar, piano, clarinet and saxophone. In 1969, Drake released his first album titled "Five Leaves Left," then in 1970 he released "Bryter Layter" and "Pink Moon" in 1972. None of Drake's albums sold more than 5,000 copies during their initial release. His lack of commercial success may be partially due to the fact that he was reluctant to do interviews or to perform live. After “Pink Moon” was released, Nick Drake withdrew from both recording and performing. He died at age 26 on November 25, 1974.
