Cooking Class: Basic Noodle Making

Learn about the secret art of Chinese noodle making. Students in morning classes will visit an amazing noodle factory in Chinatown and taste fresh handpulled noodles. It's the first time this ancient Chinese culinary art is being demonstrated to outsiders in Philadelphia Chinatown. Then Chef Poon will teach students how to make Needle Noodles, Chow Fun noodles, pan fried noodles, Pad Thai noodles and Singapore noodles. Students will receive a full lunch or dinner of the noodle dishes they learn to prepare, finished off with LowFat Toasted Sesame Seed Oreo Cookie Cheesecake with Fresh Fruit and Chocolate Mango Coulis. Dinner accompanied by complimentary Qingdao beer. The class includes a trip to an Asian grocery store, where Chef Joseph Poon will show students how to purchase the ingredients needed to make the dishes and amaze students with facts about the secrets of Asian fruits, vegetables, herbs, and, of course, noodles.
