The Philadelphia Art Alliance is dedicated to the advancement and appreciation of innovative contemporary craft—works in ceramic, glass, fiber, metal and wood—and to inspiring dynamic interaction between audiences and artists in a setting of historic and aesthetic significance.
Located in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, the Art Alliance is housed in the historic Wetherill Mansion, built in 1906 by Samuel P. Wetherill and occupied by the Art Alliance since 1926. In addition to two floors of expansive gallery space with ongoing art exhibitions that change every 6-8 weeks, the Art Alliance also offers seasonal programming featuring classical, jazz, and pop music, lectures, film screenings, Cabaret, play readings, beer tastings, and much more on the third floor parlor space.
